How often do teenage couples spend time together?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

How often do teenage couples spend time together? With work and school, how much in enough? I currently am interested in someone, but I don't want to commit because I may not be around all the time and it seems unfair making him wait around. I also like my alone time in addition to being occupied with school and work, so would dating even be a good idea? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Its always hard when your at school. Ive been with my boyfriend since february of year 10, i am now in my first year of college and we are still together two years later! i used to see my boyfriend outside of school once a week, we would go out on the weekend and then stay overnight at each others houses. What i would say is you should talk to this guy you like about it. Tell him that you are worried about this but you would really like to make it work. Im sure you will find a way around it! Everyone is different, some people would like more space some people are clingy you need to find out what he is like so you can work it out! Good luck with it :) xx

Miss King ! agony auntWhen you meet someone that you think is worth spending time with then I'm sure you won't feel worried about committing. I can totally understand that being your age means not much extra time to simply 'hang out' school takes up so much time on it's own, so its understandable and really good of you to realise that a boyfriend would take up time!

If this guy you are interested is of a similar age and would understand then maybe talk to him about it. If you like eachother enough then it should be possible for you to discuss it, after all you are going to have to plan dates etc with him! I wouldnt worry about 'normal teenagers' and how often they would meet up, there is never a normal couple or a normal relationship, you have to make it work for you! Hope it goes well! Good luck x x
