Lola1 agony auntMaking out with your partner is generally NOT ok in public. Etiquette is designed to help others feel at ease and "making out" in front of others often makes them feel uncomfortable.

Young people do it, and I did as a youth, but growns up do not behave so in general public.

A small peck on the cheek, holding hands, walking arm-in-arm, placing a hand on a knee under a table, and other various forms of not-too-in-your-face forms of public affection are acceptable in public.

Johanna21 agony auntThat's an interesting question. With my current parner I'm quite discreet about it. Hugging and holding hands is OK, a pecks are also OK, but we'd both feel uncomfortable with long-lasting smooches. However, when I was younger and was dating other people, I was far more adventurous and brazen, and I didn't care if I was making out with a guy and people were watching. So I guess it depends on the partner and whether you feel comfortable with it.
