Well, two days after starting birth control, I ended up getting sick with a sore throat and I was put on antibiotics from being sick and the doctor told me that the birth control would be ineffective while I took the antibiotics. Well, I stopped taking the anti. Yesterday but yes I am still taking birth control. What I want to know is, how long will it take for the birth control to be effective after I stopped the antibiotics? Reply to this Question Share |

what satindesire said is very true. I was really good with my birth control. I never missed one, took them all at the exact time every day for over a year && I still got pregnant. we didn't use condoms because we are in a monogamous relationship and have both been tested. he lost his virginity to me. we figured that if by some chance I got pregnant, we would be ok [we were going to try && have a baby maybe next year anyway]. and then BAM, I'm pregnant. ha. seriously if you don't want to get pregnant use condoms. you can also buy condoms with spermicide. but make sure they don't irritate your skin first.

as long as you take it every day at the same time for one week [after your off the antibiotics] you should be fine.
