reader, anonymous, writes (11 June 2009): There are no rules about this. I would say if you get past the third date and you both are still interested then that is a good sign, but what you are really asking is how to move a relationship forward.
It has to do with the levels of intimacy that you are able to get through and that can be done quickly if you both are mature and experienced at relationships, for younger, less experienced this could take more than a year easily.
