How long should i wait?

Question - (21 July 2007) 2 Answers - (Newest, 22 July 2007)
A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I've contacted a guy on a website that you have to pay a subscription fee for (which is what ive done so i can contact this guy outside of work).

Is it unreasonable for me to be expecting he does the same to contact me?

I wrote asking how he was, etc, looking back it does look a bit random, prob thinks im a nutter now, from he's behaviour around me i think he likes me...esp after making a comment about not being able to find a girlfriend.

Anyways i contacted him on thurs evening and have been on edge ever since, he hasnt been in at work apparently he's back on thurs (dont think hes on holiday as he has other commitments, not kids).

Am i just being impatient? if so what would be a reasonable amount of time to wait to hear from him? thanks in advance!!

If he wants to respond, he will do so as soon as he sees your message.

No answer means no interest.

That's how online dating works.

AuntyEm agony auntYou work with this guy? but your communicating through a 'pay' website?? wouldn't it be easier to get his e-mail address?? If he has to pay, everytime he wants to speak to you, he probably will give up fairly easy. Also if he's been away from work, maybe he has been too busy to get online and check his messages.

I suggest that when he does return to work, you be open and friendly with him, ask if its ok to keep in touch outside of work, maybe through e-mail or MSN or Yahoo messenger and just see what happens from there. Try to establish a friendship before you try to proceed to anything else. If he is interested, he will soon let you know.

Good Luck
