I've been dating my guy for almost eight months: so far I've met his brother and his closest cousin (and non-family, like close friends). I'm not in a rush and my guy said he wants to wait until he's sure about us, (that's another question, lol) but some of my friends find it odd that we haven't done the whole meeting the parents thing yet. I don't think it's weird, but now I'm curious...

He says he wants to wait until he's sure about us, fine. I asked if he wanted to meet my mom (parents are divorced, so dad isn't in the picture) and he said sure, but then we hit a rough patch for a bit, so internally I said forget about it. His closest cousin is even weirded out that I haven't met my boyfriend's parents. Anyway, he treats me well for the most part, but sadly I haven't experienced being dragged around like a prized possession in our time together. Thanks for your input! Wishing you both a happy new year!

Hmmmm....I've been around awhile so I've dated quite a few... First, is his family close by? If so, I would question just how proud of you or into you he is if he hasn't introduced you yet. I've always met the family after the third or fourth date....except for the married guy who couldn't explain the existence of his girlfriend...I thought it was weird at the time because he could never find a good occassion to introduce me to his family... Go figure! Here's my advice. If you think it's weird, tell him. If he doesn't drag you around like his proudest possession, find a man who does.
