You go to the restroom and wipe but it goes in and around your vajina. Is there still a high risk of pregnancy? I think so, but tell me otherwise.How long does sperm stay alive?

Statistically, about 30 women out of 100 will get pregnant using the 'pull-out' method of contraception over the course of a year. I think that's a batting average of .300, and that's considered really good in baseball. It's not so great if you don't want to get pregnant.
Here are the facts;

I think these resources should give you very reliable information. Remember, there's no such thing as being 30% pregnant.....
Take care!

Sperm can survive up to about three days in the perfect environment, such as inside the uterus, but dies rapidly outside. Nevertheless, your method is very high risk. As others mentioned, pre-cum usually contains sperm although it is primarily a lubricant to help facilitate intercourse. If the two of you are fertile, you are certainly taking chances when you allow him to ejaculate anywhere near your vulva. Those little buggers can be quite energetic.

There isn't a HUGE risk of pregnancy but you definitely are putting yourself at risk. Also, the pull out method rarely works, precum comes out of the penis up to 10 minutes before he ejaculates and it contains the most active sperm. Sperm can live anywhere from 24-36 hours after it is ejaculated. If you don't want to get pregnant wear a condom.

A

reader, anonymous, writes (1 April 2009): not sure how long it stays alive, but the pull out method is not that great for birth control. The reason is that before a man cums, there is pre-cum. That acts as a lubricant. It is far less potent than a full shot, but it does contain sperm. This is released starting early during intercorse. Generally, semen outside, even if it gets on the vagina, will not get you pregnant. That is way too far for the sperm to swim. I'd be more worried about the pre-cum than a shot on the outside.
Hope this helps a little.
