You have every right to phone them and ask as a general enquiry. It is your right and you can also ask to view any information about you.

You can remain anonymous if you feel more comfortable. If you chose to do this, phone them and ask, if they ask for your name, reply with "I'd like to remain anonymous", they may be a bit surprised but will give you your answer and respond propmtly.
