My fiancee and i already have two young children and decided we wanted to wait awhile before we have another. I recently got the depo shot and they told me it could take up to a yr to concieve after getting off of it so i just wanted to hear from others personal experience.

HI,
once the depo has stopped releasing in to your body it will naturally start producing its own hormones which result in a return to fertility. It can take several months to come bakc. have you had a period yet? this is a sign that your body is returning to normal. Remember also your age is a factor, although as you say you are in 22-25 age range this means your fertility should return well. It can take many months to fall pregnant whether you have been suing contraception or not so just be patient and enjoy!!

It can take a year for your body to be as fertile as it was before the shot. Even after a year it may take a while longer because only a small amount of people conceive the first month of normal fertility.
