How long does it take for your pubic hair to grow back?I tried shaving almost all of it off, thought I liked it at first, but now I can't stand it...the maintaining is too time consuming and I am starting to get a friction rash on my skin just above my vagina from sex and it's uncomfortable and not very attractive. The hair is so prickly after a day, and seemingly dangerous if encountered lol after a few days during my period, I can't imagine what it's going to be like trying to grow it back.... any insight on what this will be like?

4-8 weeks is the normal time for hairs to grow out to full lenght. Some grow fast (4 weeks) some grow more slowly.

It grows pretty fast. Give it a month without shaving it and it should be coming in well enough not to itch or feel that prickly anymore. It may take a few months before it's completely filled in. I'm like you I didn't personally like it completely bare. Too much maintenance and I thought it looked weird. I grew a very small patch back and trim the edges to keep it small. Still alot of maintenance but not as much.

I keep my "area" shaved all the time. I don't think I've ever encountered a friction rash, but I use a lot of baby powder. Always pure cornstarch, never talc.
Anyway, it doesn't take long to grow back, at all. It's just getting past the first couple of weeks that's annoying, and then you wont even notice.

I prefer waxing it all off... I can go 4-8 weeks between waxes depending on how fast it grows (faster in the spring and summer than fall and winter)...
When I was shaving it I would run the razor with either shave cream or hair conditioner slathered on over my legs, pits and crotch EVERY shower... keeps the stubble down...
if you are getting friction burns where there is supposed to be hair, well then grow that patch back...
it will be probably full and fluffy again in six weeks...

It's pretty uncomfortable the first 4 days to a week, then it starts to get better. I used to shave pretty much all of it off and then I stopped. A few things to try, wear cotton underwear that isn't particularly tight, wear skirts and dresses so there is as little friction as possible, exfoliate the area every time you shower, put some baby powder on (or Lush makes a delicious smelling dusting powder) the area to reduce friction. The more it grows, the less itchy it becomes, I promise! It doesn't take long to grow out and be soft again.
