writes: How long should my ex and I wait if we were to try again? It's been 2.5 weeks since the (mutual) end of my 14 month relationship. We decided to be friends. But we see each other and talk more (deeply) than we did while dating.Yesterday he brought up again how if things changed he would definitely entertain the idea of getting back together. I feel like I have changed at the very least already. My thought was that our initial relationship would've been better had we been friends first. (which we now are, though still more flirty than it'd normally be with a guy friend)Since the break I'd been trying to focus on me, and to grow. What he needed from me was more affection. My questions:How can I go about showing I can be affectionate, just through being friends? I know 2 weeks is alittle quick to believe anything's changed or different. Is it even a good idea to get back with this ex? Will a second try be better?

I dont really think there is a set time you have to wait before getting back together with an ex. If you're happy now, go for it! It's always worth knowing if you would have missed something or not, and if it doesnt work out a second time, just stay friends. You're obviously both happy when you're 'just friends,' but you never know: a relationship could work out after all.
