For those of you with experience with Depo Provera, how long did YOU wait after your first injection to begin intercourse? I'll have him wear a condom anyway, but I'd like some testimonies for a peace of mind... Thanks. :)

Add work and classes into the equation, and I ended up not getting down to the clinic to even get it until like the very last day of my period.
I've read that women have waited until the third shot, and I've also heard that it was effective for people within a few weeks. I can't get any phone calls through to my doctor as they're apparently all perpetually out to lunch, so any info or experiences you've had (or even men who have dated girls on the depo shot) are helpful. 3

With pill forms of the hormone it takes 7 days to be effective, but if you take it the first day of your period it's effective immediately. According to webmd, the shot is effective immediately if given within 5 days of starting your period, meaning you wouldn't need a condom at all. Your doctor should have given you some kind of drug info and it should say on there. When I started the pill I started it on the first day of my period and didn't use a condom for any period after that, no pregnancy.
