Firstly, It depends on what day of her period she was on? If its the first 3 days then I am pretty sure, you shouldnt be bothered about pregnancy. I had sex on my 2nd day of period, nothing happened, though I was scared as hell too.
Secondly, PLEASE whenever by chance you have unprotected sex (which you shouldnt) but I understand that things happen at the spur of moments, so if you do. Please tell her to take the morning after pill ASAP! dont wait till the 72nd hour.
THe morning after pill is quite effective and would able to decrease any chances if any at all.
FINALLY
A Home pregnancy test SHOULD be taken on the first day of the next missed period. Ie:- You both would have to wait for atleast 3 weeks (till she gets or dosent get) her next period for the home pregnancy test to be taken. Its more effective that way or else, wrong results can show up.
Hope this helps :) stay safe, good luck!

A home pregnancy test is very accurate after 40 days of the period's start date.

I am not entirely sure, but I think it depends on the kit you are using (it will say in the instructions) but I think it is usually a few days after when your next period was due. I read various numbers but it was around 4 days. So when it has been over 4 days since your next period was due, you can use the test.
Maybe a female could confirm or correct me on this?

A basic course in biology or sex education should inform you that the female ova (egg) goes through cycles, the final of which is the point that an "unfertilized" ova is released (discarded). This is called the menstrual period. Typically, the female then no longer carries a fertile egg that can be inseminated, although nature is replete with anomalies, and the slim possibility that a fertile ovum remains. Rather than rely on luck or a quick fix, you would be wise to thoroughly educate yourself before engaging in any sexual activity.
