Divorce is expensive because of two areas:
(1) Cost of attorney's. Most run $120-200 per hour.
(2) Contesting the settlement. That prolongs the divorce and really raises the cost. It's also prolonged if the couple can't agree on child custody.
An annulment is voiding a marriage that took place. Most jurisdictions have a certain period of time where a marriage can be canceled. It can also be canceled for other reasons, such as forced into marriage (the guy with dad's gun to his back) A marraige has to be by two people agreeing to enter into, without force. Fraud can void the marriage, such as, you find out he marries you for money and not love, that would be a marriage by fraud. Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol and entering into a marriage wich you would not have done if sobr and clear minded.
In order to check which way to go. You can check with your government who issues marriage licenses. They may have a pamphlet or other information that can assist
