Its the only contraception me and my gf use (she has a history of cancer in her family and doesn't wanna risk increasing her chances with the pill, patch etc)Anyway, just wondering, how do you tell if the condom has split? Is the leakage like so obvious that you can easily tell or do you just figure that out when your periods have stopped lol

Would just like to add a disclaimer to my reply; I was only joking... Please don't try those ideas out :)

The few times I've had a condom to split on me I noticed right away that it happened. The sensation (for me) changed quite noticeably and I pulled out to notice only half the condom still on (the bottom half).
I never noticed any leakage with condoms that remained intact throughout the duration of intercourse. And because I noticed the condom split before ejaculating, I would have placed a new one on before finishing - so I would not have seen any leakage or anything.
Part of sex is being in the moment and not allowing your mind to wander off. If you keep your mind on the action taking place and focus on the sensations you feeling while having sex, you will (or at least should) be able to notice the difference between sex with and without a condom intact.
Hope this helps.

To be honest I've never experienced a condom splitting ever. Make sure you use good quality ones and not Tesco value ones :)
Ways to check:
1) I suppose you could blow it up like a balloon and see if it deflates. Bit messy though!
2) You could tie it up and trapping some air in it and submerge it underwater in a small bowl - much like you'd check for a puncture in a bike tyre. If bubbles come up then theres a leak.
LOL :)
