As a career?
If you do, you'll want to catch up fast, because there are people way ahead of you, pick up as many science college courses as possible, know the scientific method down pat, etc.. You know SA's education system better than I so work with what you have.
Read nonfiction stuff from credited chemists, biologists, geologists, astronomers, etc.. The ones who write books do a grand job of explaining things, and you should be able to pick it up.
Surround yourself with people who like it too. I have a coworker who I love to talk intellectual with (science, philosophy, etc.) and he's helped me retain my passion for knowledge.
Good luck,

Can you go back to school and study science? Do you have a library close by, check out some books. The internet has many websites on the sciences. If there's a will there's a way.
