Yes, you can go to the doctor and have your blood tested for abnormal sugar levels, or infections of any type, including HIV. Some STD's have no symptoms. Others do have symptoms such as burning, itching, or a foul discharge. HIV only has symptoms in the advance stages, which could range from your inability to fight off colds, and infections, a general feeling of weakness and tiredness, skin lesions etc. If you're worried or think you may have been exposed, go get tested. I wish you the best.

Hi
There are not always outwardly obvious signs you have an std. Especially guys. Herpies will show with blisters on the genitals. Other more common ones unfortunately are only diagnosed with tests.
HIV & the Aids virus wont have obvious symptoms either.
If you're in the Uk you are never randomly tested for STD's. You will have to request it. If they are looking for certain things in an everyday blood test they wont be testing for STD's. If they tested for everything in one blood test that would take a lot of time & resources.
Your local hospital should have a GUM clinic. Like the doc said, i would ring & make an appointment. They tend to only be open a certain few hours of the day.

They are usually within a hospital but are sometimes in specialist places. Phone your GP surgery and ask where your nearest one is. It is best to phone and book an appointment, else you can turn up on the day but be in for a quite a wait!
Also, they only test your blood if you want a HIV test.
You don't have to be tested for HIV (but you can if you wish) All other tests are done using one swab that is taken from your penis.

Totally agree with previous poster, your doctor can test for all std's, so if you are worried it's always best to get it checked out.
Take care.xx.

That's why it's vital to go and see your GP/doctor as soon as you have unprotected, come in contact with blood (which is not your own) etc. Considering you seem worried that you might have an STD put your mind at rest and go and see your GP/doctor.
