you need to ask yourself is he the one you can not live without . do not marry someone you think you can live with, make sure they are the person you don't want to go through life without. commitment and love ( giving yourself for that other person , not being selfish )it takes two people to make a marriage work.

It lasts if neither of you ask for a divorce. So talk about how you both feel about divorce before marriage, if it is a non-option or not. If you are religious it is more likely that you will see divorce as a non-option.
Married couple who do not see divorce as an option will not think about divorce as a solution either, and instead be focused on other forms of solutions to problems. This will make them able to find such a solution, if there is one, and the marriage lasts.
There's not always a solution to every problem. If there's an addiction ruining the relationship, or a partner becomes abusive, or it is life endangering to stay, then divorce should of course be an option.
