A shy girl around a guy she likes, may become quieter then usual and try not to catch his eye. A confident girl around a guy she likes, may show-off or make it obvious that she's flirting. When a shy girl flirts, it may not be noticeable. It may even seem like shes avoiding you but thats probably not the case. When i'm around a guy that i like, at first i try not to make it obvious that i like him just in case the feelings not mutual. But if i find out he likes me too, i give out signals (e.g. let him see i'm looking at him or laugh at everything he says).

 If I like a guy I just can't help but flirt. I'm quite a confident girl, If I fancy a guy I put most my efforts into getting to know them to see if they are what I desire or not. I form friendships first.
Therefore; go along to things they are doing, pay a big interest into their life, ask a lot of questions, giggle, talk all the time over the internet, phone, or even better face to face. I talk about relationships and what they want from a girl and I tend to end up play fighting or watching films. I kept having massive waterfights with my last fellow.
Despite how much I fancied him though, when I flirted I made it very subtle, as thiugh it would be acceptable flirting within a girl boy friendship, therefore it must've been hard for him to read me properly!! Best thing to do is make a move, thats the best way to find out if a girl fancies you or not!
A big giveaway is the blush. If one of your friends was to approach her and say hey you two are cute together, if she likes you then she is very likely to blush at this moment.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 March 2006): i thought i'd leave another perspective here, as im a lot different than the two responses already. im a shy girl, so when i like a guy, they end up thinking i dont like them AT ALL, even as friends. i dont mean for this to happen but i get distant and kind of cold (like flat answers, as i dont want them to catch on or have them think im desperate). i dont know why im like this, i just dont like the whole "flirting" thing, so i just dont do it. but usually guys tell me thats what they liked because im hard to get (this is NOT intentional, though some girls do that purposely) my whole reasoning is because im scared. maybe there arent many out there who are like this as well, but i thought i'd tell you incase a girl you might like acts similar!

I know that when Im into someone,I like to get close to the person.Even if it's just brushing past them.I catch myself smiling alot when the persons around.
If Im in a group with a guy I like,I'll pay attention to everyone,but I want him to know that he has my eye.
So,I'd make eye to eye contact,making sure I have a sexy smile on my face.If you like this girl;make a move!!!!!!

 It varies from one woman to another,some make it obvious that they like a fella and others are not so forthcoming.If a woman is attracted to a man,she does give out certain clues......playing with her hair is one sign,like flicking it or twirling it around her fingers,eye contact is very obvious......if she stares at you intentally or holds her gaze a few seconds longer,also laughing at every joke you make....asking questions about you.......lots of smiling.Another good sign is when she talks to you she touches you a lot,like on the arm or shoulder....thats always a big give away.But while im giving you these tips,i would strike while the iron is hot and ask the lady you have your eye on out.Scary i know but if she says no well ok.....worst things have happened at sea.Good luck.
