Hey guys,

I'm kind of in a bind. I just graduated from college in May with a BBA in accounting. I'm currently interning this summer and it turns out, I HATE accounting. I thought that I would love in while I was in school so I never really considered any other career options. Now, I don't know what path to take. Everyone tells me to work in a career field that I'm passionate about, problem is, I don't have a passion. :-(

How do I discover what it is that I love?! I mean, there are things that I enjoy doing, but I don't necessarily love them nor can I make them a career (i.e. daydreaming, singing in the shower, traveling, helping people find opportunities, scholarships, jobs etc, going to see live theater).

Is anyone else in this same boat? What did you do? How did you figure out what it is that you love?

I'm finding myself and my passiona very simply. Travel.

Try backpacking around somewhere: around the US, Australia or Europe or Asia or South America or wherever. But get out of your comfort zone, do some odd jobs, meet some weird random people, make friends, talk to local, talk to foreigners, get a camera and/or diary and capture what you learn, like and don't like. Have fun and you'll figure out what you're good at and what you're not. What you enjoy and what you don't.

The other thing is this. You say you enjoy daydreaming? Entrepreneurs turn their dreams into a reality. Ever imagined a new industry or a new business? Had a new perspective on life? You could try turning something like that into a reality. Also "helping people find opportunities, scholarships, jobs etc, going to see live theatre"

Helping people find opportunities: you could work in or start a job placement/HR thingie. You help people find jobs/opportunities by helping them perfect their CV and them sending it to the places that it would be of use. Forging connections with companies so that they come to you when they need people.

Also working in schools, unversities and companies that give scholarships and bursaries. You could start a company that "grooms" people for scholarships. Perfecting the way they come across, their academics, their sports.. whatever it may be.

Going to see live theatre? Critic. Some kind of talent scout for theatre companies.

There are infinite possibilities with what you already know about yourself.

Another way to find out more about yourself is to go to a career counsellor that will "test" you and help you figure out your personality as well as giving you advice as to what you can do with that information interms of which workplace or career or degree.

Good luck! I'd love to hear feedback :)

Traveling - travel and tourism, travel guide, holiday rep etc

Helping people find opportunities - careers adviser at school, Job adviser.

Research the things you currently enjoy and I am sure you will find something.

Also try lot's of new things too, for instance maybe you're passionate about animals? you could be an animal biologist, you could work at a zoo, thats not the career path i'm taking but I would LOVE to do that :)

Try doing some art, and don't dismiss it when you think you're bad at drawing, trying painting, no? try fashion and textiles or animation, or clay modeling. Anything! :P

You will eventually find something, you don't need to find it right now :)
