He used to do shows on-line for money

I've been dating/living with my boyfriend for almost 2 years now. About a year ago he admitted to me he used to do shows online for money but he doesn't do it anymore and he is no longer in contact with any of the people. I found out he was still talking and doing occasional "shows" for free with a few of his old contacts. He told me they were his friends and he felt guilty when they would talk him. Since this he says he isn't talking to them anymore (again...) but I am having trouble trusting him. I don't want to be a prying girlfriend and start reading his e-mails and texts but I am finding I just can't trust him anymore and I don't know what to do. How can I start trusting him again?
