The problem is all those things you mentioned, shy, goofy, show-offish etc are things that teenage guys so when they fancy a girl. Realistically, you'll find it hard to tell whether a guy likes you from just how he acts. You'll need to talk to him about it. Those actions could be nothing, but they could be a sign a guy likes you. The only way to find out initially is to talk.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 October 2010): They often tease each other, maybe tease the girl playfully as well, show off like u said, act tough, try to crack jokes. People, from a sociology perspective, tend to act different in groups. If u get a guy alone, he could act different too. In my opinion, if u wanna know if a guy really likes you and if he's genuine about it. One on one convo is a sure fire way to tell. Hope this helps :)
