reader, anonymous, writes (6 February 2009): Approaching a teacher can be very difficult sometimes, especially if it is one for a large class and they don't even know your name. Making that first initial introduction is the most difficult part and you don't know if they are going to be welcoming or stuck up. But if you at least try then they know that you are making an effort. If you introduce yourself when classes first began then you won't be hesitant about approaching them about a question. I suggest you go for, it can't hurt your grade, it can only help you. Hope it goes well and let me know if you have any other questions.

Teachers are mandatory reporters, at least in my state, so the thought of being able to talk freely goes right out the window!
