writes: hi it'a lboy i'm an agony aunt on this site and i need your help, i'm 14 and i'm a bisexual, i really want to tell my mum because when she is around i have to act like a whole other person. my friends are supportive of my sexuallity and except me, i think that my mum would aswell but my dad would disown me, what should i do about this/ how should i tell her? reader, anonymous, writes (21 November 2006): I think you should wait for the right time to tell your mother - try not to let it stress you out, wait until you are calm and relaxed and alone together and explain to her how you feel. You might find it easier if you tell her how you have been feeling before you break the news.
You could ask her to keep it to herself for now - after all you are very young and the pressure of other people around you may be alot for you to cope with- until you are ready of course.
How do you know your father wil disown you? My father makes rather nasty comments about gay people sometimes but I have many gay and bisexual friends who my dad has met and gets along just fine with. After all you are his son - you might be pleasantly suprised :)
