Just tell him, "Dad, I'm moving in with my boyfriend." It's that easy. Then, shit might hit the fan, but that's alright because you're at least eighteen years old. If he gets mad, just tell him that's the way it is, and he's gonna have to deal with it. Remember, though, before you decide to move out..if he doesn't want you to, and you feel you may need or want support from him in any way in the future, you might have to be completely self-supportive, with only your bf to rely on when you have those moments where you feel you need your parent's imput. Meditate on that before you go ahead and tell him you're moving out.

I agree with C.Grant, you just need to tell him. If you are not ready for that, that are you really ready to be moving in with someone.

C. Grant agony auntHow about, "Dad, I'm moving in with my boyfriend."

Sorry to be flippant about it, but let's get real here. Either you've decided that you're grown up and moving on with your life, or you're a kid looking for approval. Do you really think that Dad is going to approve if you yourself have doubts about it? And if you don't have doubts, then what does Dad have to say about it?
