What my ex did was to let me fumble with it a minute, then when I either didn't get it quickly or I gave up, she'd reach back with one hand and unhook it for me. She then offered to let me sit behind her and look at what I was doing to try again.
Barring that though, there are tons of not-so-subtle hints you can drop. A simple "the bra isn't going to unhook itself" should get the point across. Though maybe it would be easier to just say "Go ahead. You can unhook me."

If you can't just say, "it's okay to unhook my bra," are you sure you're really ready to do this? You realize you're going to be reminded that you're still underage and may not be fully matured enough to make good decisions.... Good luck.

Honestly... When you guys are alone and messing around. Just tell him (in a certain voice) that "Babe, you can unhook my bra if you want." But ever consider... That maybe he trys but actually doesn't know how o:! If that is the case than do it yourself. Also if you aren't embarresed about it; when you are alone just show him how. It would help the both of you. Just remember if you aren't ready don't let him get too carried away. [:
