Two questions really.

How do I tactfully tell my girlfriend that I really don't like the perfume she likes (it smells kinda strong and bitter)?

She got some new stuff over Xmas that I adored and kept telling her how nice she smelt but she didn't seem to get the hint and went back to her old brand that I hated.

I want to buy her some that I like but how can I do this tactfully? And anyone have advice on subtle perfumes that are kinda vanilla-y?

Any help greatfully received!

I agree, she's lucky to have such a good guy, Most any vanilla parfume is going to be subtle, you really can't go wrong with that scent. Do you know if she likes vanilla? You may try Eternity for women,by calvin klein it's a classic.

She probably likes & feels most comfortable with her usual perfume. Maybe she's even saving the Christmas one! Definitely get her some nice perfume for Valentine's Day,

and maxsteel86 has good advice on that. Some men would come right out and say they don't like this or that perfume. You're a sweet boyfriend for writing to Cupid on this!

just start to pretend to sneeze everytime she wears it.Then after a while you can say perhaps your allergic to something. Then dont sneeze when she dont wear it then that might do the trick LOL ;)

cd206 agony auntMaybe she doesn't like the smell of vanilla. I know I don't. Is it really that bad? To be honest I think telling her you don't like it would offend her too badly so try to live with it if you can and if not buy her some perfume for valentines day. Hopefully buying her something will make her want to wear it to be reminded of you.

Hey, if u and ur gf ar at all close, she wont mind u tellin her that you dont really like one of mher perfumes... BAsically, when shes wearing the good one, tell ler how good it is, and that you like it Sooooo much better than the other one. Everyone percieves smell differently. you can tell ehr that. Just keep it as a light comment tho, not like ur mad at her about wearing it, or anything. Im sure shell be happy to adapt for you!! as for perfume, i hate fruity or sweet smells personally, on me.. so not a clue about the vanilla thing... but ask people in the shop theyre really helpful!!

maxsteel86 agony auntWell maybe once you get her the perfume, she'll wear that one more. And about the perfume smell, just talk to the people there at the shop. They're seriously helpful when it comes to buying perfume!
