writes: Questions.Do I really have to wait until my period is due and missed before taking a pregnancy test.I think I may be pregnant and my cycle has just finished so do I really have to wait a whole month before testing or can I just wait a week or so from conception.I've been told you can't take the test until when you are suppose to get your period and you don't get it.Thanks, just want to make sure the test is going to be accurate.

It takes two weeks for the hormone that allows preg tests to dectect pregnacy is in your body. If you can wait 3 weeks to make sure its accurate, If notits accurate at 15 days (after the date u had sex). Good luck darling

I'm not exactly sure what brand it is, but i know i've seen commercials that say their product will tell you if you're pregnant like a week before you're missed period. And I think some can tell you within like 1-2 wks.

reader, anonymous, writes (19 November 2008): Why not take one before, and another one afterwards? All I've heard is that they can be accurate just a week after conception. It will probably tell you on the packet if you are supposed to wait until after your period. But if you did it right before or during your period, then although possible, it's highly unlikely you are pregnant.
