I get along quite well with him and we seem to flirt alot but i dno whether to ask him out or not, I'm also worried that he might not fancy me but instead my mate who he also flirts with a bit.  Looks like a tricky situation, but to be honest, what is the point of not telling him, if you dont your'll just keep wondering. If he doesnt like you then you have closure, but if he says he does, then brilliant.
I would first find out if your friend likes him, you dont want conflict between you.
And then go for it, you could get something brilliant out of it.
