The question is do you like this girl? If you do then talk to her, get to know her and become her friend. She is shy around you as she has a crush on you. Be careful not to hurt her.

Sounds like the girl has a crush on you and there really isn't much you can do about that. IF you aren't interested in HER, I'd just ignore it. Don't be mean about it just ignore it. Think about it, HOW would you feel if you had a crush on a girl who JUST didn't care for you? Who felt it was AWKWARD that you like her? So be gentle.
If your friends bring the subject up, just shrug and say you have no idea and isn't interested in it.
Eventually, she will crush on someone else.

I'd go talk to her. Find out if she wants to talk and is too nervous or ask her to stop staring, if she reacts in a mean way. Do it alone, but in view of others, in case she's a bully.

So, go easy.
A girl's heart is her most treasured and most fragile possession.

She's got a crush on you. Relax and enjoy the attention. At your age it is unlikely to come to anything more than glances from a distance.
Unless, of course, you like her, then you could always start saying hi to her and see if she responds at all.
