 Hey dear. Just read your problem its the same as mine. We both felt were ready but didnt know how to go about. I came to realise it happens spontenous.  First up (and I'm going to sound like a nag here, but so be it), BE PREPARED. Go and get some condoms and a quality lubricant, so you'll be ready when the time comes.
As for 'getting started', I've always found it's something that takes care of itself. I personally find it a mood killer when the sex is planned, so I find it best to just start kissing, and then go wherever the mood takes you.
