You have to love yourself. I'm sorry you never felt love by family or friends. It's hard. I deal with people every day who are neglected, abused.
I'm going to tell you a quick, true story. "there were two people living in the same house, raised by an abusive mother and an alcoholic father. They never felt loved by their parents. When they grew up, one brother became a priest, the other one is spending life in prison for murder."
What is the difference between the two. The priest viewed the bad things that happened as an asset to empower his life. The prisoner let his experience control who he became instead of taking control himself.
You need to take control yourself. Feel good about what you do. Find things to do that empower yourself and others. Build your own strength and be the powerful person you have what it takes to become.
