We talked for a long time and she actually opened up to me for once. the reason she's depressed is because her bf who she was in love with dumped her a few months ago for someone else, and she can't handle it. I think i can help her because i'm in the exact same boat (infact, the guy who broke my heart happens to be one of her ex's. oh, the irony). She ended the conversation with, 'dont worry about me, i'm happy if everyone else is happy'. that's what she's been saying for months, and i know it's not true because she still cuts herself etc. even though she acts like she's happy. Can anyone advise me on how i can get her to open up to me so i can help her? xx

A friend like this is scary. You need to get help. Not just for her but for you. You cannot cure her and you cannot deal with this on your own. Go to an adult you trust and ask for their advice. Do not try to do this alone as it will be to much for you. Get a professional to help.x
