Question - (25 January 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 25 January 2010)
A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

i am 22 years old and am married to a man who treats me as if i should be scrubbing the floors when i am not working full time or taking care of our two year old daughter or throwing up from being 6 months pregnant. we got married three days after i turned 20 when i was also 6 months pregnant. he has been on probation and since our daughter was born has been to jail four or five times and was in military prison for 6 months last year. he got back and treats me, who has been working and paying bills and taking care of our daughter nonstop by myself since his "away time", like i am worthless and calls me lazy and useless nonstop.

yes the house does get messy at times and yes the dishes arent always done but how can they be when im always working and am exhausted from being pregnant and catering to everyone elses needs all day.

He tells me daily that i dont do anything and am worthless and has countless times told me that i dont realize how much i sit on my ass and do nothing.

And by the way he is in work release which means he goes to work everyday for 8 hours and then goes back to the jail overnight and does nothing.....all night.

i dont know how to get him to realize all the things i do for this family or how i can get him to treat me with respect but i need help very badly. i dont want our daughter and our unborn son to think that its ok for a man to treat his wife like that but i dont think divorce is something that should be considered just after almost three years..

someone please help me.... :(

A female reader, grrrrrrr United Kingdom +, writes (25 January 2010):

I stuck with my verbally abusive partner for almost 12 years!! Thinking "It'll get better", well...it don't!

I plucked up the courage and ended it and looking back I wish I'd ended it years before. I'm so much happier now, have a new partner a happier life.

Your a woman, we're made of strong stuff, we bounce back from some rotton crap that gets thrown at us, hell, your doing it all alone anyways from what you've said!

This situation is no good for your daughter or your unborn child, put them before some useless man who couldnt care less about you...good luck
