Hi, ChiRaven and Ask oldersister have given some good feedback on this suggestion. I have a website that may be a good place to start if you are really determined to become a writer.

Good luck and congratulations on the baby!

Careers in writing are difficult, demanding, and take a great deal of talent. Most paid writers work on a part time "don't quit your day job" basis and depend on whatever their writing brings in as extra money. This is true even of some very talented and popular authors. And getting started ... getting noticed ... in that business is VERY difficult. In just about any writing job you'll start out as just another entry in the "slush pile" and unless your writing is something really exceptional you'll never get out of it.
Oh, nobody HERE gets paid, in case you're wondering. True also for virtually ALL internet sites.
Most of the advertised "work at home" jobs are scams. Be careful of them. They try to get you to send in money to get set up, and then there is really nothing to them that will generate any income.
In short, the prospects are not good.
That's not saying that you WON'T eventually find something that will allow you to work from home, but it is not an easy thing to do. Most jobs that involve working from home are things that are done from there on a part time basis (with the balance of the time in the office) or are done on a "piecework" basis. Maybe someone with more experience with your local job market in your area can comment on the types of thins that you might find there.
Good luck.

Best thing is possibly enrol on some counselling courses at your local college and creative writing. There are lots of jobs you could do from home which would fit around your baby.
Try gumtree.com for idea on courses and jobs from home. Also, go and speak to your local job centre for advice!
Good luck!
