A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend of nearly a year and half has gone away for a week, and i miss him terribly. I've found myself doing nothing, just feeling sorry for myself.

How do i create more independence in my relationship, and stop myself feeling so bad when he's not here?

Things like walking your dog, doing dishes, cooking, reading, hiking ... etc, could help you focus on something else and therefore give you the "I can do stuff even when he's not here" feeling, also known as "Independence".
