It went away but has come back in the past 2 years. Im a full time mom so do i have to pay?Its affecting my relationships and i have no friends due to a betray of trust that happened 2years ago, since then, i dont go out the house, dont answer the door and i dont trust anyone, I dont want to make any friends due to this, i dont have any confidence either. thanks.

Male Anon, i didnt say i didnt want to be referred by a doctor, i said i would prefer not going to a doctor. This is because researching alot on the internet and people say doctors just seem to put you on anti-depressants as a first port of call without trying to resolve the underlining problem. I do not want to be on anti-depressants, i want to sort out the underlining problems in my life. My ex mate was once depressed also and she got put on anti-depressants without having counselling or anything.
Plus i do not want a doctor to say iv got postnatal depression when it has nothing to do with my baby. Im depressed due to life problems, friendship/relationship problems, confidence, lack of trusting people, traumatic events thats happened in my life including rape that not even my parents know about
I no there are walk in places near me for counselling sessions but these are for young people up to the age of 25, im thinking about going there but id rather go to a 'proper' counsellor.
Im scared to talk to new people, even go out the house so no matter what root i take it'll be hard, but id rather contact a counselor directly.

I don't understand why you don't want to go through your doctor? He/she can HELP you with this, but YOU have to take that first step.

Hi,sorry about what your going through,im living with someone recently treated for the condition and i know it can get pretty bad, esp. at the chronic severe level where in the case ive mentioned councelling wasnt enough alone but had to include use of antidresants n E.C.T. treatments to help correct the body hormones and brainwave patterns. Its not a condition to take lightly and especialy so when you stay alone, the feelings of paranoia, not being able to trust anyone, the feelings of fatigue such that u cant leave home, the need to cut people out your life coz ur sure they DONT understand you or what ur going through etc etc. Op i cant imagine wht ur going through but having lived with someone who suffered through it for years,i get the picture, struggling just to get by thru to the next day. Im not sure of how ur medical plan or system works in ur country but try get hold of a good psychiatrist to help diagnose what stage its in. This is not something to be taken lightly,gd luck n take care
