And you hardly need to beat around the bush with these girls, they know you're there for phone sex so they'd start it off anyways.
But if you're talking about talking dirty with your girlfriend, then take it slow. Make sure you're comfortable enough with each other, if she's not really a very sexual person or you've never gone far with each other, then maybe phone sex isn't a very good idea just yet. But otherwise, you could start with telling her how horny you are. Say things like, "I wish you were here right now, I just wanna..." and say what you'd like to do to her. Don't just do it in your normal tone of voice! Try to make it sound sexy, almost in a whisper, and softly moan every now and again. Then, just do what feels right! Ask her what she'd like to do to you. Ask her what she'd want you to do to her! But don't demand or put her on the spot, make sure she doesn't mind what you're doing.

 One comment: By "phone sex" I understood "hot calls". Other people would disagree with this definition. If you mean that you will be sending text messages and talking to someone you are already related to, someone who is your real-life partner, then I think you will learn by doing :-). And that is not a foolish thing to do.

I know phone sex is expensive, addictive, and, in a way, a very foolish thing to do. I saw this TV show where a phone sex girl was describing her job to the audience. The lady was indeed smart and had an absolutely mesmerizing voice. Which is all she needed. And then she said, while laughing, that she kept telling all the men that she was a skinny, big boobed blonde (well, she told a partial truth there: she did have big breasts), hot and anxious to get laid. A girl I was with saw that show too, and she said we men were all very stupid.
We didn't have phone sex in this country, but then, when we had, we learned that many police chiefs had been calling Hong Kong while on duty, and the phone calls had had to be paid by the Police.
