Oh dear...I am in the same situation.
I wouldn't just jump right in to ask him out, he may feel akward and pressured into giving you an answer.
I would talk to him first, get to know him, let him get to know you, etc.
I know certain guys are 'scary' to talk to, but, if you really want this, you have to try.
If he says no, so what?
You'll get over him, trust me. Some guy out there wants to treat you like a godess. It may be him, it might not be. You never know unless you try!!
And he won't just ask you out randomly either, so really, go up to him and say 'hi' or just chat a bit. If he seems hesitant and doesnt seem like he wants to keep the conversation going, then just close the covnersation and keep going. Feel free to try again and if he does the same thing again, it may be that he just doesnt want to talk to you.
And avoid talking about things like, "Did my friend tell you I liked you?" Or anything in that nature. It will make things akward.
Good luck, dear!!!
