I'm a freshman in highschool and have neither dated nor had a girlfriend. I dont talk much at school and people call me quiet. I have a huge problem with that. I don't know how to make friends, therefor cant get a girlfriend in my current state.

I'm a sort of picky person. Im looking for someone who looks good. What I am asking for is a solution to my problem. I am looking for advice that will sucessfully help me be able to talk to people, change my quiet reputation, make friends, and get a decent looking girlfriend.

(also, I am realy funny when I am comfortable, I play the violin, I am not ugly, Im smart, I'm African American, but I dont act like or like those dumb rappers and thugs, I don't play sports at school, and I am a new student in a private school whose majority of students have been there together since early elementary school)

Hey man, I'm 14.. I'm not sure what that is in the American school system but yeah. Anyway, at school I'm shy and quiet as well, I'm not one of the 'popular' people.

Recently I've gotten a girlfriend :) She's amazing and I really am falling for her.. She's nice on the eye too ;)

She tells me she likes the way I am honest, and just act myself the whole time.

So that would be my tip for you: act yourself.

Ok, I've been through what you're going through right now. I was a quite and shy kid too, I'm not so much anymore but I still have that side to me. Try to build your confidence up, hang out with people. Do things, You have to try, try and try some more to make yourself comfortable with other environments. Get out of that shell, and become someone else. Not completely, because you can't change who you are. But you have to be social. Confidence is something women are attracted to. If they see that you're to shy or don't bother hanging with other people, they might just think that you're exactly like that. Make yourself known.

Trust me, just be confident in yourself and show people that you're not just some quiet kid. I mean, that's what I did. I ended up with a few girlfriends in my high school years. And also ended up having a ton of friends to add to that.
