cd206 agony auntYou're at an age where so few people are sure about their sexuality and it's great that you know you're bisexual. It sounds to me as if your friend is confused and unable to admit he may, or may not, have homosexual leanings. It's not unusual to experiment in your late teens and one gay kiss doesn't mean you will be gay forever, just that you were confused in that moment in time. You need to proceed carefully with talking to him about it since he may well be too embarassed or regretting it or confused about it or even masking feelings for you after it. Had you been drinking when this happened? Could you ask him if he kissed you because you'd both been drinking? I think the most important thing is to let him know that whether he is gay, straight, bi, in love with you or someone completely different that you will remain friends regardless. Guys your age often find it hard to talk to each other about important issues but if he really is your best friend then you need to resolve the situation or your friendship will just slip away. Talk to him

A female reader, Serinity United States +, writes (3 January 2008):

Serinity agony auntI would suggest not acting too quickly on this matter. Does he know that you're bi-sexual? It is very likely that he is not quite sure about his sexuality at this point in his life and maybe he is testing the waters. If he is aware that you are bi-sexual and you two are close friends, then the kiss could heve been because he felt comfortable experimenting with you. If he is acting as if it never happened then maybe he is pondering what he felt when he did it. Maybe he's in the process of trying to figure out if he is gay or bi-sexual or completely straight. If he continues to act as if nothing ever happened, then you do the same. Maybe he realized it's not his cup of tea or maybe he's still trying to put it all together. You surly don't want to lose his friendship over this so I would ride it out for now. Since you already know that your bi-sexual I would give him the same opportunity to figure out his own sexuality. If you pressure him or force him in anyway to explain the kiss or question his sexuality, he may shut the door on you completely. Be his friend for now and if more comes out of it later then so be it. If nothing comes out of it later, then you still have a good friend. Good luck!
