 Hey sweets, its not an easy topic to beat around the bush but there are always ways!
If you don't want it to be to serious for him, do it when you having fun! When you both laughing and enjoying each others company and then when you feel the time is right, simply say so when do we take the exclusive part of our relationship away! its not asking him where you stand just an innocent question an enquiry and you will be able to tell by his reaction just what he thinks of the relationship!
If he laughs it off as if it doen't matter then he is just in it fo the fun, but if he takes you seriously, he will be honest with you there and then, he will either tell you i enjoy spending time with you but i don't want anything serious now or he'll tell you he wants to be with you!
But do it gently,
