I don't seem to be good at small talk round the photocopier and no matter how hard I try I always always can't concentrate on talking and doing something as simple as photocopying. Any tips? ah and how do I greet him next time we meet, he must think I'm schizo or something because everyone at the office know that the answer to his question is yes, so that sounds like I was lying or simply hard-hearing and schizo! thanks in avance

I would make it simple and approach or at your next crossing, say you were really involved with the coping and something else on your mind and did not hear what he said, that is easy. I have done the same thing, giving a quick response even though I had no idea of what was said. Just ask him. That makes you sound like you were really concentrating but have not forgot that he was talking to you. He will like that you remembered even if he does not remember what he was saying at the time. That is more than likely what will happen. Let him know that sometimes your deep in thought and unknowinly tune some things out.
