How did he move on so fast after all we've been through?

Hi,

I am in desperate need of insight into a situation. I was with a guy for 2 years, he loved me dearly and then overnight it was over. He went from wanting to marry me to needing time to figure himself out within a week. What does this all mean? Can feelings really change just like that after all we've been through together? He told me so many times I was the love of his life. He doesn't even appear to be grieving like I am. I've cried everyday for 3 weeks, yet am somehow getting on with my life.

How do feelings appear to change overnight? We had a very intense relationship and he has been there for me through thick and thin. I am basically certain there is no other woman. He says we can be friends but then today he deleted every evidence of me off his facebook. I mean why would he delete every picture of any event I was ever a part of? I wouldn't think to do that. There were so many photos and even the pictures of me with other people are gone. He said when we broke up, he could not stand to lose me as his best friend, yet he is hardly a friend anymore. I just don't understand how it possible for this to happen. How does he move on so fast and act like nothing happened?

Has any guy out there gotten over a women they loved just like that?

Any insight, especially from men would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I can't tell for sure because I'm not in this guy's head, but maybe he's going through lots of stress and is really afraid of something. If he told you he wanted to marry you and everything, maybe he thinks now that he's not strong enough to fulfill his promises. Maybe he loves you to a point that he is overwhelmed by it and need to back out. If he was not caring at all, I don't think it would be necessary for him to act like he never knew you (deleting you from his facebook, etc.)

My advice would be for you to wait. Important thing: make sure he knows where you stand and how you feel about him. That you love him a lot and miss him a lot. If he loves you too, he will calm down eventually and come back. Being in love's supposed to be an easy thing, but it's not. Sometimes it can bring one a lot of stress, especially if you had been through hard times together.

Of course, it could be also that he's not interrested anymore, for some reason. I'm not telling you to wait endlessly and I don't wanna give you false hope.
