How dare he try to dictate her life!

A male United Kingdom age , *yonsdown writes:

My girlfriend and I met 4 months ago and are totally in love.

Her husband left her for another woman 1 year ago and their divorce is in progress.

Unusually, my gf is on very good terms with her in-laws (she's known them 26 years). The in-laws don't like he's split up a family (there are 2 kids, aged 16 and 18), but understandably, have some loyalty to their son.

Tonight my gf is making dinner for both sides of the family, including the in-laws. The husband has just phoned his father and mother and said if they go to the dinner, knowing I'll be there, he'll never speak to them again.

How dare he dictate terms, when he was the one who committed adultery. How insecure is he?

Does everyone agree with me the man is an idiot? Or does anyone support him?

Miamine agony auntHe's an idiot... sigh.. but it's difficult for you.. Just try not to loose your temper, be supportative and loving, but try to keep your anger to yourself. The lady is going through a lot already and she sounds really nice. A Knight in shinny armour just like you is what she needs to help her smile again. Please don't bring more problems into her life. Good luck.
