A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

First all thanks for reading this. I am single 34y woman. I met a guy living overseas last year. We had a good time and after we both left to our own countries we kept the communication by skype and fbk..etc. I found the opportunity to do some seasonal job in a different country and I offered him to go with me and take this incredibly opportunity together.

We decided to meet before go to work. I paid for his flight ticket and I found a place to stay for a month. The time arrived and he shows up like a completely stranger..nothing like the man that use to know. He was a jerk and hurt me so much with his actions. I blame no one but myself for being so naive but how can I cope with this situation? I decided to leave him over there and come here by myself, is hard because I have not family here ...there is new language also so everything has been such a huge change for me. I blocked him from all social networks so I do have not idea about him or his friends. How somebody can behave that bad after receive help? How I could not see the evil person that he is? I am feeling I only meet bad people at the end I am always alone..

A female reader, anonymous, writes (16 May 2013):

Why did you pay for him? Why would you ever want a guy who lets you pay for his ticket. It's not like it $100, it's a significant amount of money. Why would you pay so much money for a complete stranger. I think your behavour is impulsive and irrational. And may be that's why you keep n meeting all these ,bad, people in your life.

A male reader, CMMP United States +, writes (15 May 2013):

Well, had you met him in person at the beginning you would have noticed how he was right away. The internet allows people to be anyone they want to, even the king of Nigeria.

I would stop placing all your bets on 'virtual' people.
