Go to Planned Parenthood and get both of yourselves checked out. You don't need your parent there, you can do this completely independently (though, WONDERFUL if you feel comfortable enough to include your parents in on keeping safe). Then, after a clean bill of health, stay exclusive, use protection and be sensible. Good luck!

Well hygiene has nothing to do with STD's - a sexually transmitted disease is caught from having sex and then passed on through having sex in your (or her) bodily fluids. So the only way to make sure you dont catch an STD is to have sex using condoms. There is nothing else you can do - just condoms!
I dont know if you both have had sex with other people before or if it is your first times, but if you have had sex with other partners then you should both go to the doctors and get an STD test. The test is pretty quick and painless and you should get your results within 2-4 weeks (depending on your doctors). If you are both virgins then there is no need to get tested - if you have not had sex you cant have any STD's!
It sounds like you are both worrying a little too much here - it is good to be careful and you should always use condoms as this will protect you. As long as neither of you have any STD's then you cant do any damage to each other's bodies, so get tested if you have had sex before and then you can completely rule out the chance of getting (or giving) any STD's!
I hope this helps!
