A female United Kingdom age 51-59, anonymous writes:

I do not know what to do and need advice.

Been a very good friend with a guy for many years and we got on very well.we would talk and he always showed off and even showed me how too play music for the music events he did.used to drive him home.he would do anything - like the time i could not carry something heavy he collected it and said he would drop it off at an arranged place.when i did see him he was trying to say something but broke off.

the next time i saw him was at an event and people were going around saying he hated me etc so i was angry. he wanted to talk to me and made an excuse to catch me on my own and that is when the truth came out (but i did not hear him very well as it was noisy).then again people were going around saying rubbish and i again got angry and went off at him. again he caught me in a corner where it was not noisy and just me and him and he said your hurting me (i said i had had enough and sick of all the nonsense) he said i do not want people to know (get lost was my reply) to cut a long story short he is in love with me and he

was hiding it (he said it is a dark secret that i dont want people to know).

anytime i would not pay him attention he would get angry and even stormed off and people would ask what it was about (i could not say).i have seen him in tears and his mates asking him what is wrong - he would not tell them so they tease him about not having a girlfriend. i get angry he gets angry as we both think that we hate each other thanks to others. we have had bust ups over this and it has not been nice. i have tried to tell him how i feel but it feels as though i hit a brick wall as he has to hide his feelings from the others.

a member of this guy's family has told me that this guy knows where i live and i have seen them around there and also pretty upset as i do not take him home or even get close to him anymore and even his family have to pick him up as he is so upset with the fact that we have bust ups. this member of this guy's family has asked me do i know how this and i have said no as i did not know what he was on about and this guy's member of his family has confirmed that this guy is in love me and noone else (the member of this guy's family is his father).

i have seen this guy with some cheap girl (who has a name for herself) hanging off him (but he claims that he is not interested and went out with her once and it is me that he wants). i have heard that this guy is supposed to be going around saying crazy things and then i told him what has been going on and dont want to see him ever again. it hurts as i really do want to see him and talk and even his mother has told me to talk to him as he is in such a state. i have seen him drive past where i live a lot of times but i do not know what to do and i think about it alot and just wish we could work things out as i do not want to go to the place we used to hang out.

i have been told to contact him but his mobile is off and i have been told to pop around to see him (but what do i say?). i had sent a note to him saying that we must not hurt each other no more and break each other hearts.
