How can my boyfriend and I get past the troubles we've had in our past?

A female , anonymous writes:

My bfriend and I went out for 2 years then broke it off...we did a lot of damage to the relationship. 3 years later we're back together and things have been going great for the last 3 months, however, we hit a bad patch one night when the conversation came around to a girl that's back in town who caused trouble back in our first days, which led us to breaking up.

It blew into a huge dredging up of the past memories of hurts and now we dont know what to do. We both feel this wall between us and both want it to go away, but dont know how. If we truly have a future, how do we get past this?

You need to talk about what happened in the past, get it all off your chest and allow him to do the same.Only when the air is cleared will you be able to move forward.
