Tell her that there's something important you need to discuss with her, but tell her that it's best if she goes into the discussion open minded. This will probably have her confused, but assure her that it isn't any bad news.
You need to be honest and matter-of-fact, and tell her that it's a part of who you are, but that it doesn't change the relationship you have with her (does it?)
Just hope she's open minded and understanding, some partners might not be for whatever reason. Good luck.
